Our caregivers and providers are some of the most experience healthcare workers, displaying good work ethics and morals. We also conduct a criminal background check on all our staff prior employment to ensure our patients safety.

For medical services and home visits a referral has to be placed by a doctor’s office such as your primary care provider office. For non-medical referrals such as patient care assistance, if private paid can be done by patient or payer, otherwise referrals covered through mainecare hour will need to be approved by maximus.

Most insurance company does not cover custodial care however Mainecare does offer coverage for this service. You may need to check with your insurance to see if they offer any coverage for custodial care

Most insurance covers acute RN home visits and home medical consultations. You will need to check with your insurance company regarding coverage for phlebotomy, health, lifestyle & wellness coaching and/or patient care assistance home visits.

It is best practice to send referrals separately. This reduces the potential for HIPPA violation on miscommunication as we try to accurately separate the contents of each referral.

You will receive an email confirmation communicating your referral has been received and will be processed. A member of our office will reach out if we have questions or concerns.

Yes we are licensed and certified by the Maine State Department of Health and Human Services

Yes, all services offered by Senior Helpers Maine LLC are coordinated and supervised by a Registered Nurse.

We are fully insured and bonded to cover important things like worker’s compensation. This is so that if a caregiver is injured while providing care in your home, you are not responsible for covering the medical bills.

All our staff and caregivers are required to wear or carry a photo ID as required by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC).

Mobirise

We do allow you to request a different person and will make the change if you are not satisfied for any reason. However, if you request a new patient care assistant frequently, then there may be days where you or your loved one goes without care because the office staff needs to identify and coordinate a replacement.

An initial care plan will be developed for each patient to communicate with their caregivers the expectations and goals of the patient 

No, you do not pay your Caregiver directly, and they are not allowed to accept tips. You’ll pay Senior Helpers Maine LLC directly. We accept most methods of payment.

Please notify us immediately for us to coordinate coverage for your shift.
